About

Designed as an open-ended archive that focuses on the impact and adaptation of invasive seaweed species to coastal ecosystems, we reflect on migration, cultural exchange, and climate change through non-invasive creative methods.

Our first archival group project began with the study of Japanese Wireweed, scientifically known as Sargassum muticum, an invasive seaweed species that has rapidly spread across the UK’s coastal waters. Our group visited the town of Margate where we archived and responded artistically to the landscape and its biodiversity.
