About

Alex Xiaonan Guo is an emerging curator based in London and Beijing, whose research explores the intersection of technology and ritual. Her academic interests span digital art, ritual practices and belief systems, hyperreality, and speculative world-building.

Alex co-initiated Project sitnaltA in 2025, an experimental research project that employs fiction as a curatorial method. Centered around the interrelated themes of fiction, value, and historical narrative, the project fosters dialogue, collective storytelling, and other creative practices to construct the speculative world of the Suspended Age. Its inaugural exhibition is set to open in London in March 2025.

In 2024, she co-curated Meta-Abyss, the first solo exhibition of Chinese fashion photographer Chen Momo in London. Previously, she served as a Public Program Coordinator at the Beijing Minsheng Art Museum, where she initiated and curated the Museum Night series—an experimental public program integrating independent musicians, artists, and the Beijing International Film Festival. This initiative cultivated a dynamic contemporary art space, fostering cross-disciplinary cultural exchange.

Alex holds a BA in Art History with a minor in Studio Art from Mount Holyoke College. She is currently pursuing an MA in Curating Contemporary Art at the Royal College of Art in London and is a member of the Develop Collective at The Photographer’s Gallery.
