About

Jin Roh is a South Korean film director whose work delves into the fringes of society, illuminating the lives of those relegated to its periphery. He studied Film at the Korea National University of Arts and later pursued a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art in London, where he explored the intersection of cinema and contemporary visual art.

His short films have been invited to prestigious international festivals, including the 53rd Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, garnering critical acclaim for their poetic intensity and thematic depth. Jin Roh’s storytelling often centers on marginalized individuals—those who exist outside the bounds of convention and structure. With a lens that is both compassionate and unflinching, he captures their silences, their gaze, and the raw truths embedded in their everyday lives.

Currently, Jin Roh is also active as a commercial director, bringing his distinct cinematic sensibility into advertising, music videos, and branded content. Navigating fluidly between genres and disciplines, he continues to build a body of work that balances artistic rigor with broader audience appeal—positioning himself as a compelling voice in contemporary visual culture.
