Yilin Song comes from a city in China with a long tradition of woodblock printing. Therefore, his works focus on depicting the impact of modernization on traditional industries and the survival predicament of traditional artisans in the modern society. He also attempts to explore the possibility of development for traditional industries represented by the woodblock printing of his hometown under the influence of emerging technologies such as AI.
