2125 Global Food Security Report: The Era of Plastic Nutrition
About
2125 Global Food Security Report: The Era of Plastic Nutrition is a “government archive” art publication set in the year 2125. It depicts a dystopian future in which microplastics are no longer seen as pollutants but have become an integral component of the global food system.
Our team collected plastic particles from supermarkets in London and transformed them into food, crafting a series of “tempting” advertisements for this synthetic cuisine. The project explores how corporate branding, and visual aesthetics work together to normalize environmental collapse and repackage pollution as innovation.
Blending scientific reports, policy statements, luxury food advertising, and 3D-rendered speculative meals, The Era of Plastic Nutrition blurs the line between reality and fiction, offering a critique of how power and pollution shape our perceptions of food, safety, and sustainability.
