Female reproductive rights & health

About
Our AcrossRCA project, Female reproductive rights & health, explores the intersection of reproductive rights, health, and contraceptive medicine. Guided by two central questions “what is the connection between contraceptive medicine and the female body?” and “what is put on the line: reproductive rights and sexual health, or general health?” our research ranged from early birth control pioneers like Margaret Sanger to current debates highlighting the urgent need to address knowledge gaps through further hormonal contraceptive research.
Focusing on the birth control pill, we investigated ways to reveal the hidden processes it initiates within the body.
Our response took the form of a series of photographs, including one that layered images of pill sculptures with various body positions to explore the connection between the human body and the pill.
