From Ordos – A Speculative Future Fantasy

Based on several landforms that are often found in deserts, the virtual scenario blends them together to create a virtual show to show how in the future, humans could use this wearable to survive in a desert environment.

As the challenges of global desertification and climate change become increasingly severe, this project showcases clothing designed for life under extreme drought conditions through interactive physical garments and digital virtual environments, emphasising symbiosis with nature while providing protection.

Considering the huge temperature difference between day and night in desertified areas, we chose to use temperature-sensitive colour-changing fabrics, which can change to white reflective when exposed to the sun to protect against ultraviolet rays, and fade to black at night when it's cold to absorb heat.
