Good Mourning

About

How do we give time and space to mourning? How can we expand our relationship with grief beyond traditional frameworks? What does it mean to process loss over time, or even outside of time?

Good Mourning seeks to provide individuals with a shared space for solace, to engage with grief on both a personal and collective scale, fostering connection and contemplation. It invites its audience to entangle themselves in notions of loss through embodied, multi-sensory engagement, challenging conventional narratives around grief and its often taboo perception. By connecting with water; a medium that shares nature’s atemporality and ability to prompt retrospection, the installation hopes to encourage free and natural conversations around loss and the healing process. The audience is given the agency with which to contribute, reflect or simply exist within the space, allowing them to engage with grief on their own terms. Good Mourning advocates for the emergence of these inclusive ‘soft’ spaces where individuals from all walks of life can process grief in their own, unique way.
