About

Did you know that one hour of Netflix streaming produces 100–300g of CO₂ emissions. Our research also showed that small digital activities—email attachments, Zoom meetings, or music streaming—also have environmental costs we had not considered. We realised many of our peers were similarly unaware.

Therefore, we created a simple board game that raise awareness of digital footprints and shows how small lifestyle changes can reduce them without being too preachy or didactic.

With the simplicity of checkers and strategy of chess, Off The Grid makes learning about your digital footprint, fun and games. It’s a game that revolves around improving players’ knowledge with its capacity to promote positive shifts in behaviours over time, fostering collective learning.

The game also uses glass based pegs as playing tokens and the board is made out of reused foldable fabric.
