Our Oceans – Stories, Myths and Objects

The Oceans 5 team wanted to create an exhibition, that would deliver a number of aims. We all have an individual connection to the Ocean, it means something different to each of us as we all come from different countries and backgrounds, we wanted to utilise this a create 5 individual projects that unite around this central theme.

We also wanted to move away from the constant scare mongering that often happens around the climate crisis, instead wanting to focus our work on beauty, love and imagination to inspire others to connect with nature and the oceans. This way we hoped to encourage others to get involved in climate crisis action on their own terms.

Each of us created a piece of artwork or display, that was exhibited at the Painting Crit room on 3rd March 2025, where we invited anyone and everyone to talk and interact with our work. It proved very successful.
