The Vanishing Ginkgo

About
The Vanishing Ginkgo project focuses on the ginkgo, the only surviving species of its genus, using its endangered status as a starting point to explore the connection between forest depletion and the climate crisis. In our preliminary research, we categorized the climate crisis into five major areas and ultimately chose to investigate the issue of endangered tree species and forest degradation in depth. We believe that restoring the ecological environment is not only a method to rectify past mistakes but also is the responsibility for the future. The loss of forests results in the extinction of tree species and disrupts food chains, ecological balance, and biodiversity. The endangerment of plants reflects a wider ecological crisis, calling for greater responsibility in protecting natural resources.
