About

Our project background focuses on the educational system of competitive sports in China, where middle school students often find themselves in high-pressure environments for extended periods. Systemic pressure not only affects academic performance but also significantly impacts personal mental health and social adaptability. In this context, extracurricular tutoring and cram schools outside the formal education system further reinforce students’ competitive mindset, leading to a closed mentality when facing societal evaluations and standardized test scores. In a resource-limited, highly competitive environment, individual self-expression is restricted, and the richness of emotional experiences is diminished.

Our team’s research motivation is to develop a project called “HappySoul,” aimed at studying the formation of negative emotions and their social triggers. By creating virtual spaces and interactive websites, we seek to provide a decentralized method of psychological relief, enabling students to communicate with different participants in a regulated environment, alleviate their stress, and foster mutual understanding between students and educators.
