About

Lydia Hill is a print designer who is continually inspired by the natural world and passionately addresses environmental issues through her work. By valuing timeless designs and sustainable techniques, she believes in raising awareness of these issues by utilising the combination of the joy and attraction of print design, with the universal allure and need of textile products.

After graduating with a First Class BA (Hons) in Textiles in Practice from Manchester School of Art, she received multiple recognitions, such as being recognised as a ‘Top 10 Designer’ by AVA at New Designers 2022, being selected for the ‘New Talent’ sector of The Surface Design Show in 2023 and receiving a highly commended award at my degree show, among others. This propelled the launch of her business, Lydia Hill Designs which aims to highlight these environmental issues through printed products, whilst ingraining sustainability throughout.

During her current Masters at The Royal College of Art, she is exploring how to further implement sustainability into all aspects of her brand, such as the use of natural dyes and sustainable techniques to depict further environmental issues.
