About
Margaret Fiedler McGinnis (b. 1967, Chicago / lives London) is studying for a MA Sculpture at the RCA 2024/25. As a musician she is known for her post-rock/electronica bands Laika and Moonshake as well as being a touring guitarist with PJ Harvey and Wire. As an artist she creates metal sonic sculptures, site-specific multi-channel sound installations and indulges her life-long love of photography. Her community gardening practice — including founding the RHS award-winning Hope Garden in Walthamstow — informed her approach to the AcrossRCA 2025 Caring Society project, evolving into the collaborative SocieTEA participatory herbal tea workshop.
