Nicholas Gambin is a writer and theatre-maker from the Mediterranean island of Malta currently enrolled in the MA Writing programme at the Royal College of Art. He has had many years of experience training and working in theatre and the performing arts, both on stage as a performer and off stage as a writer and director. While training at Studio 18 Malta, he developed his devising skills through the Creative Lab Programme while also furthering his scriptwriting skills through the Play-Writing Programme. He obtained a Bachelor of Communication (Honours) with English from the University of Malta and before moving to the UK, he spent three years working within the writing department for social media start-up FreeHour Malta, working his way up to Content Manager. Some of his theatrical production credits include Kisbiet Minsija (translated to “Forgotten Achievements”, 2022), Thirty Love (2022) and Moving Boxes (2024). His practice focused on capturing the deep and complex emotions of the human condition, and he is particularly interested in themes related to theatre, identity, and mental health.
