Yu Sun is a printmaker exploring how images can arise from material processes-grounded, inked, rotated-without a fixed endpoint.
Sun works with conditions rather than compositions, allowing gravity, pressure, and chemical reactions to interact with the plate. For her, the printmaking process is where most of the work happens-it is a way of thinking through making.
Her interest lies in how process shapes image-through pressure, fluid, and timing-leaving behind decisions that weren’t drawn, but built.
