Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence are now topics people are exploring, AI is gradually changing our lives, and gradually occupying an important place in human society. Discussions about the relationship between AI and human beings have become essential. In this year’s RCA course, I was very fortunate to be enrolled in Being Digital Topic which I was interested in. After a series of discussions, we finally decided to study whether AI has self-awareness whether AI will follow human instructions, and how AI will communicate with humans in the future. Our group demonstrated our research through a robotic arm and the communication between people and the robotic arm.
Humans rely on intuition and emotions to make decisions, while AI operates based on rules, making it seem rigid in scenarios involving emotions. In the future, AI will need to enhance empathy while maintaining logical rigor. Continuous human intervention is the key to preventing bias; AI needs to be monitored and adjusted over time to ensure fairness and stability while adapting to changing social environments. The future of human-computer communication should be more respectful and understanding, and AI needs to optimize the way it is presented to make feedback more acceptable and reduce the discomfort caused by a lack of emotional experience.
